Biography

Brian Anderson graduated in medicine from the University of Otago, New Zealand in 1980 and fragmented his anaesthesia and intensive care training through the United Kingdom, Republic of South Africa, Australia, the Netherlands and New Zealand. He is now a specialist paediatric anaesthetist and intensivist at Auckland Children's Hospital, NZ, and also holds an academic appointment at the Auckland School of Medicine where he is an Honorary Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology. A PhD in paediatric clinical pharmacology was completed at the University of Auckland in 2002. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed essays and is regularly invited to National and International meetings and Universities to present on a wide variety of topics relevant to paediatric anaesthesia, intensive care and pharmacology.

Research Interests

Dr Anderson has a special interest in the pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic relationships of simple analgesics and maturation aspects of paediatric pharmacology.

Editorial Interests

Dr Anderson serves on the editorial board of the following journals: Pediatric Anesthesia Pediatric and Perinatal Drug Therapy.
